The Dominion originally from the Gamma Quadrant is ruled over by the Founders. The Founders (shape shifters called by human life-forms) because they could mimic and change their bodies into complex items and different organic life-forms. The Solids (nickname given by the Founders) feared these people, and where hunted and killed. |

Founders created the Jem'Hadar who call them gods, became very reclusive.
The Jem'Hadar keep Dominion power exercised, brutally, over all the territories
within the Gamma Quadrant. With the discovery of the Worm hole, the Founders feared the Alpha Quadrant species and made plans to take control of it. To get a solid presence past the Worm Hole, the Dominion allied themselves with the Cardassion Union. War soon followed, the Breen and Cardassians both an Alpha Quadrant species allied with them under the membership of the Dominion. The charts above show the Dominion alliance at the height of the war against the Federation, Klingon and Romulan forces. |
