Voyager is hailed by a ship and the commander, arrogantly orders Voyager to leave the area but poses no threat. Later Voyager meets up with the Zahl who explain that the unfriendly race are the Krenim who used to rule the area with Temporal Weapon ships until the Zahl overthrew them.   The unfriendly ship returns later, and a spatial distortion wave is detected and the Zahl ship disappears, and the Krenim ship is now more technologically superior than before. Now after many weeks of battle Voyager is damaged, and has finally some new Temporal Shielding to protect themselves. Voyager is now detected after another incusion. Janeways finds out that Annorax is causing these incursions to try and restore the Krenim Imperium, to when his wife was alive. Janeway allies with the Nihydron and the Mawasi to stop the Weapon Ship.
