Decal Placement

Now that all painting has been completed it is time to put the Decals on to the Model. The equipment I would suggest in using are two items 1) A Sewing needle and 2) Cotton buds.
TIP! Using the Sewing Needle to position the Decal into the correct position and then using a Cotton Bud very lightly run the bud over the area where the Decal is to be set. The water is soaked up into the head of the bud and use a few of these adding a little more pressure each time until the area is dry and the Decal is set in place.

If needed use the needle to pierce any water bubbles and dry with the Cotton Bud. I also heard but have not tested this idea my self, that glue watered down is a good method as well.
TIP! This method is used when the Decal will not adhere to the Model properly. Simply with the glue you use to assemble the model, just add a few drops of water and mix together. Using a paint brush, paste the mixture onto the back of a Decal, then place onto the model where needed.

Additional Effects

I added some little effects to the model that was not covered in the instruction sheet. The Gangway Hatch that can be found on the front and on the sides of the Saucer section.Shows where the Docking Ports(3)are on model.
TIP! I used a piece of card and cut out the desired size, making sure that it fitted the indent on the model and it was not to big. I then airbrushed over the area with No. 144. When that was dry, using a pencil I drew around the sides of the indent.

Lastly there where 4 lifeboats that where missed out when the model was being made. These are found at the far back of the Saucer section. Shows where to find the missing Lifeboats on model. Using a sticky label, I traced around one of Voyagers other Lifeboats and then placed it at the correct angle and using No. 94, I airbrushed over the Label.
The other item that was missed on the model as well was the Defensive Shield Grid. Using a sharp knife you can scribe in the desired shape if you want to. I did not add this in, because I have not mastered this technique yet, and if I tried I might have made a mess, of a near finished model.
